Questions we hear every day.
Answered straight.
No fluff, no marketing language. Real answers about how we work, what projects cost, and what you can expect.
What does Energie Solutions do?
We are a licensed electrical contractor that makes commercial buildings cost less to run. Our work includes LED lighting retrofits, lighting controls, electrical service, and EV charging installation. We operate nationwide as the electrical contractor of record — one license, one contract, one point of accountability — and have since 2015.
How does the process start?
With a free site assessment. We come on-site, audit your existing fixtures, pull your utility bills, and document burn hours. No obligation, no cost. You get a full report with verified savings math built from your actual data.
How long does the assessment take?
Typically 1–2 days on site depending on property size. You receive a full written report within a week — fixtures audited, utility analysis, savings projection, and a recommended scope.
Do I need to get multiple bids?
You can. But our proposals are built from your actual utility bills, your actual fixture inventory, your actual burn hours — not generic estimates. Most clients find they don't need a second opinion once they see the math.
How much does an LED retrofit cost?
It depends on fixture count, type, and voltage. Industry-typical installed costs run $150-350 per fixture, and most of our projects pay back in 1.5-3 years. Your proposal is priced from your actual fixtures and utility bills — not averages.
What's the ROI?
Most of our projects pay back in 1.5-3 years, measured post-install. After payback, every dollar of energy savings goes straight to your NOI — on a typical 200-fixture parking lot, that is meaningful ongoing annual savings.
Are there rebates available?
Yes — and we handle all of it. Our team files the utility rebate applications, tracks approval status, and follows up with the utility on your behalf. Most commercial projects qualify for $50–150 per fixture in rebates, which reduces your net project cost.
What is Lighting as a Service (LaaS)?
Zero upfront capital. We finance the project and you pay a fixed monthly payment sized below the monthly savings the project produces — net-positive from day one. Typical terms are 48–60 months, with defined buyout options.
Do you handle financing?
Yes. We offer LaaS (zero down), standard capital purchase, and hybrid structures. We work with your CFO to find the structure that fits your capital plan and tax position.
How long does installation take?
Most projects complete in 1–3 weeks. We schedule nights and weekends to minimize tenant and operational disruption. A 200-fixture parking lot typically takes 2–3 nights. Interior retrofits are scheduled around your building's occupancy.
Do you pull permits?
Yes. We are a licensed electrical contractor. We pull all required permits, schedule inspections, and close them out. You don't coordinate anything on the permitting side.
Are your crews employees or subcontractors?
Both, depending on the project and market. We deploy our own field teams and licensed installation partners we know and supervise. What never changes: every project is run by our project managers, installed under our electrical license, backed by our warranty, and closed out with our own measured verification. Your contract and your point of accountability are always with us.
Do you work after hours?
Yes, routinely. Most commercial projects are scheduled nights and weekends to avoid disrupting tenants, operations, or parking availability. We coordinate directly with your property manager on the schedule.
What areas do you serve?
Nationwide, from four offices: Birmingham, AL (headquarters), Nashville, TN, Los Angeles, CA, and West Palm Beach, FL. Every project runs under our license and our project managers.
What warranties do you offer?
Both labor and product warranties. We handle all warranty claims in-house — you never contact a manufacturer directly. One call to us, and we handle everything: diagnosis, manufacturer claim, replacement order, and installation.
What happens if a fixture fails?
You call us. We determine whether it's a workmanship issue or a product failure, file any necessary manufacturer claim, order the replacement, and send a crew back to install it. You don't file paperwork or wait on hold with anyone.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance?
Yes. We offer service contracts for ongoing electrical maintenance, lamp replacements, and system monitoring. One contractor for everything — no juggling multiple vendors when something breaks.
What are lighting controls?
Smart wireless systems that automate dimming, occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting, and scheduling. Typical additional savings are 20–40% on top of the LED retrofit itself. Controls also give you real-time visibility into energy consumption by zone.
Can controls integrate with my building management system?
Yes. Wireless controls platforms integrate with most building management systems via BACnet or API. We scope the integration as part of the controls design and handle the commissioning.
Do you do EV charging installation?
Yes. Full scope: design, permitting, installation, and ongoing maintenance of commercial EV charging stations. We handle the utility coordination and electrical infrastructure — not just the charger hardware.
How is Energie different from other contractors?
We're execution-led. A licensed electrical contractor that owns the project end to end — not a consultant who hands you a report. We audit before we recommend. We quantify before we quote. And we stand behind every install with in-house warranty handling. The whole process — assessment, design, installation, maintenance — stays under one accountable contract.
Can you work across my entire portfolio?
That's our specialty. We work with REITs, property management companies, and institutional owners across multi-property portfolios. Standardized specs, consistent install quality, a single point of contact across all your properties, and one warranty call for everything.
Who will I be working with?
A named project manager from day one. The same person who runs your site assessment manages installation and is your contact for warranty issues afterward. You are not handed off between departments.
Still have questions?
