The Problem
Hospital lighting operates 24/7 and has the most demanding quality requirements of any commercial environment. Russell Medical's aging fluorescent system was producing inconsistent color temperatures across patient rooms, flickering in corridors and exam rooms, and generating maintenance requests that competed with clinical priorities.
The Approach
We specified healthcare-grade LED fixtures with CRI 90+ for clinical accuracy, flicker-free drivers for patient comfort and medical equipment compatibility, and sealed fixtures where infection control required it. The install was coordinated with hospital operations — patient care areas were phased to avoid any disruption to clinical services.
The Results
The retrofit delivered consistent, flicker-free, clinically appropriate lighting across the facility — CRI 90+ in patient care areas and medical-grade drivers throughout, with installation phased around clinical operations so patient care was never interrupted. Staff reported improved visibility in care areas.
