Buffalo Rock operates bottling and distribution facilities that run long hours under high-bay lighting. The existing HID system was dim, slow to restart after power events, and a constant maintenance line item. We retrofitted the facility with industrial-grade LED — high-bay interior and full exterior perimeter.
The Problem
Bottling and distribution facilities run 12-16 hour days under high-bay lighting. Buffalo Rock's metal halide fixtures were losing output, taking 15+ minutes to restrike after any power interruption, and requiring frequent ballast and lamp replacements. The maintenance burden was steady and the energy bill was high relative to the light output they were actually getting.
The Approach
We specified high-bay LED fixtures rated for the ceiling height, ambient temperature, and vibration profile of a bottling environment. Exterior perimeter lighting was unified to match. Install was phased around production schedules — no downtime, no disruption to operations.
The Results
Immediate improvement in light levels across the production floor. Instant on/off eliminated the restrike delay problem. Maintenance dropped to near zero on lighting. The lighting solution has proven reliable and durable in a demanding industrial environment.
